Appeal Reference: APP/U1105/W/24/3355976

Many of you will already be aware that this Appeal was heard on April 23rd.

On 15th May a note was posted to the EDDC Planning Portal stating that the Appeal by the Owners of the Devoncourt Hotel had been rejected by the Planning Inspector. We are awaiting the details of the Planning Inspector’s decision. This is a very significant step forward and it is the first time in recent months that an Appeal regarding an Application for a Major Development in the EDDC area has been rejected. It is a tribute to the years of hard work by TARA and its members, and also to our liaison with local residents and Councillors, that this decision has come about. An enormous thank you to all who have contributed. It should be noted that the Owners may still decide to take their case to the High Court, although we hope that after reflection that they choose to revise their plans in view of the extent of the objections and arguments against their current proposal.

If more information becomes avaialble regarding the reasons for the rejection we will post this to the website.
